The town is located in the Kandy district of Srilanka. Kadugannawa’s countrywide Railway Museum is the biggest attractive landmark in the Kandy. The museum was founded in 2014 to celebrate the completion of 150 years of Sri Lankan Railways. The museum has old engines, locomotives, rail cars, trolleys, carriages, machinery, and equipment that has been used since the beginning of Sri Lanka Railway. Other tourist attractions include Sri Lankathilaka Rajamaha Viharaya and Embekke Devalaya.
