The Urban municipality is located in the Dailekh district of Karnali Pradesh in Nepal. It is believed that it was the winter capital of Sinja kingdom, later it was merged into Nepal by King Mahendra. It is famous for its stone tabloid which is supposed to be the first one written in the Nepali language.
