Chavakachcheri is a town in the Northern Province of Sri Lanka. The word Chavakachcheri means “Javanese settlement” owning to the fact that of the presence of Javanese culture here since older times. The town lies in the Jaffna district and is known for its 111-year-old Hindu College. The Sangupiddi Bridge of Chavakachcheri that connects the town to Pooneryn is very famous for its sunset. There are also a number of worshiping places in the area.
